In 2024, Luke Humphries became the top darts player by winning his first PDC World Darts Championship and securing the world number one spot. He defeated 16-year-old Luke Littler in the final. Humphries was the tournament favorite, having won three majors since October 2023.
He also excelled in the betMGM Premier League but lost to Littler in the final. Littler, the youngest player in the Premier League, won the title in his debut year. Other notable performers included Michael van Gerwen and Dimitri Van den Bergh.
